Christopher A. DeRango is known as one of the top DUI, major traffic, and criminal defense attorneys in Northern Illinois. His legal career began in 1994 after he graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law in DeKalb, Illinois. Chris's first job was as a prosecutor for the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office. His skill and talent were quickly recognized, and in 1995, he was hired by Vella, Sparkman, Wheeler and Lund to defend clients charged in cases involving DUI, major traffic, and other criminal violations. In 1999, Chris joined the firm of Sreenan & Cain, P.C., where he remains today. While Chris's primary areas of practice involve DUI and major traffic cases, he has successfully represented clients in any number of other criminal matters, including reckless homicide, drug-related offenses, and murder. Chris has tried many jury and non-jury trials in both state and federal court. His practice has taken him to the courts located not only in Rockford (Winnebago County), but also Belvidere (Boone County), Sycamore (DeKalb County), Dixon (Lee County), Woodstock (McHenry County), Oregon (Ogle County), Freeport (Stephenson County), and to other jurisdictions across northern Illinois.
